Inland Southern California Alumnae Chapter History

In August 2010, the Delta Psi chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta came together for a chapter reunion. At the reunion members started to talk about the need for an alumnae chapter in the Inland Empire. In the fall of 2010, a small group of ladies began to meet to discuss the viability of establishing an alumnae chapter. Once it was determined that there was enough interest, the group of ladies petitioned headquarters to become a Theta Alumnae Chapter. The petition was granted in January 2011 and the Inland Southern California Alumnae Chapter was established in February, 2011.

At the planning meetings it was decided that the group would organize four events per year. These events would include a Founders Day celebration, an educational event, a philanthropic event, and a social event. The Inland Southern California Alumnae Chapter’s first event was held on February 5, 2011 in celebration of Founders Day. About 25 women, representing different universities, enjoyed a luncheon, a Founders Day ceremony, and fellowship with one another. Our 50 and 25 year Thetas were honored with Twin Stars on their name tags.

In May 2011, women came together once again to learn about personal and home safety from a local police officer. Alumnae went home with good tips on how to keep their families and homes safe. The next planned event will be helping the local chapter of CASA at their annual fundraiser.

We continue to meet four times per year for our formal events - Founders Day, a Spring Education Event, Day of Service, and a Holiday event. Contact us to find out about our next event and follow us on Facebook at @InlandSoCalThetaAlumnae
